About the Podcast
The Wine For Normal People Podcast is for people who like wine, but not the snobbery that goes with it. It’s for people who want to learn about wine in a way they can relate to.
We treat the subject with respect, accuracy, and candor but we also add pop culture, asides, opinions, and our special brand of humor to lighten it up. Since 2011, Wine For Normal People has translated wine into relatable terms for listeners.
We’re grateful to have been mentioned in publications like the New York Times and Wine Enthusiast for our show, but we care far more about what our outstanding, smart, cool listeners think.
The Hosts

I’m the host: Elizabeth Schneider. Click here to learn more about me. When I don’t have amazing guests to share their expertise, my co-host is M.C. Ice. He’s my husband, and just a wine-loving normal person (not in the wine industry!).
We never reveal his real name or his face (well, occasionally in classes or in Patreon events) but I will tell you he’s not a DJ , a rapper, or a ringleader of a circus as many have guessed in the past. He makes a great podcast partner because he’s a smart, normal person who asks great questions, and brings me down to earth when I get too dorky or excited about the wine topic I’m talking about.
What do we talk about?
Only wine (no beer or spirits here!). The show is a fun mix of wine-related topics – grapes, regions, wine etiquette, food and wine, industry stuff, and interviews featuring the most interesting people in wine (generally small, indie producers, growers, or others in wine that you may never have heard of. I leave the big guests for the other wine shows). To get on the show, you have to be a nice human who I would want to have dinner with (no jerks!).
Is it the wine podcast for you?
The show is for normal wine-loving people who want well-researched but easy to understand wine info peppered with humor, informed opinion, pop culture, and, as fans have come to know and love, ” dork out” moments, a.k.a., technical stuff about wine. We like to banter and like all radio shows, we have personalities that you may like or may not like. We want people in the WFNP community who like our brand of enthusiasm, humor, and education.
How long is each episode?
Each show is usually around 50 minutes long but we don’t have a formula, so it varies. We take as long as we need to cover the topic thoroughly, but it’s edited for clarity and flow.
