More about this class

Although it shares a coastline with California, the wines of Oregon and Washington are worlds apart from their neighbor to the south. Both areas are at a much more northerly latitude, giving extra sunlight to the growing season and each has excellent diurnal temperature swings, keeping bright acidity in the wines, which have little problem ripening. Oregon is famed for its Pinot Noir but it grows a variety of grapes, which we’ll discuss (I personally think Chardonnay is it’s true star!). Washington, where most of the wine grapes are grown in a desert far east of Seattle, has a warmer, sunnier climate but its often hot days are balanced by cool nights that extend the growing season and give the wines exquisite balance. In this class we will review these Pacific northwest gems so you have an idea of what’s here, what’s great, and why you should be drinking more of it!

We’ll review and taste:

  • Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
  • Washington Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah

*IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Once you register you will receive a registration confirmation email from the system with the Wine For Normal People logo and  a LINK to the instructions for the class. PLEASE check your Spam/Junk box if you do not see it. If you still can’t find it, please Contact Us.
