Description

In the last 5 years Portugal has emerged as a high quality player in the wine world with unique grapes and blends that range from fruity and bold to refined and elegant. Now more than ever, the country is not just about Port and Vinho Verde, but it is making unique, tasty, and well-priced dry wines too (the Vinho Verde has become much more serious too!). In this class we’ll explore it all – the areas that make Vinho Verde and how to get better wines from them, the dry red wines of the north and the south, and then we’ll discuss, arguably, the two most important fortified wines in the world – Madeira and Port. Wines for this class will include:

·      Vinho Verde

·      Reds from the Douro, Dão, and Alentejo regions

·      A fortified wine of your choice – either Madeira or Port, we’ll explore both

This is a fun class and the wines are very budget friendly and so tasty! It’s amazing how much wine diversity is packed into a country that is just 458 miles/738km long!
